I hate how NL seems like such an idiot for all the terrible item selections early on, then, right as he’s about to die, he manages to think his way out of his inevitable death in what can only be described as a fit of unprecedented genius.

So whenever he got hit, curse of the tower dropped bombs. The bombs were sad bombs, so they exploded into tears. The tears were ipecac shots because he had ipecac, and they danced around because of ring worm. Each bomb also released a shower of goodies because of glitter bombs, and many of those goodies were sacks because of sack head, resulting in more goodies, which generated a lot of spirit hearts for him to refill the HP lost from being hit and taking damage from his own explosions.

When the synergies got really bad he pulled of a win...by taking items with even worse synergies. How does he do it?

Awesome musical selections and sound effect choices, the Megalovania build up to Blue Baby's instant death was even better than the one for Delirium. Also, Bumbo shitting out that Shovel and NL being confused as to where it came from might be the funniest thing.
