Although I don’t have any mental disorders they really help me focus without them in school I do stuff like tap my feet or pencil and it’s distracting to everyone. 3/4 of the people at my desk group need fidgets to focus. My teacher bought some for the people who need them to focus. And then we had 3 at our table because 3 of us have trouble focusing and then the other table took some of ours claiming we were stealing all of them when they just used them as toys. Everyone was abusing the fidget system and us people who need fidgets get ours taken away from us by them because they want to use them as toys. As for kids buying them a lot, I don’t mind if they buy them for fun because the people who need fidgets still can get them, but it is true that they’re blowing up as “toys” more often then fidgets which isn’t the best because then adults take them away from kids saying they’re toys and blah blah blah. I do really agree with the environment thing though. Well that took a LONG time to type but that’s just a random rant. Ty for reading this long lol

I originally got fidgets for the trend, but now I use them for their actual use, as I have anxiety. They help me a lot and it's crazy to think that people use them for "toys". Honestly, I can't believe I originally used them for "toys". I fully agree with you.

I have a lot of people in my class who use fidgets, specifically pop-its. My science teacher said that fidgets are not toys, but tools. I only use pop-its because of my anxiety. (I stress A LOT in school like a lot of people) and they help me relax and cool down.

Tbh I have anxiety but I have none of these fidget toys. When I’m stressed I just fidget with a rubber band on my wrist or something, so I never had a reason to buy these. Most of them can be pretty loud, and the people who bring them during class just keeps on playing with it and making loud noises and not only does that distract the class, it distracts the person themselves because they’re just “playing” with it…

I have 1 fidget as well it’s a heart shaped one and it’s pretty small. I still like to pop it though! Even if I don’t have some disorder it calms me down and it’s a good stress reliever I don’t plan to get more

I agree, people who don’t need them buy them, then people who do need them can’t get them. I have adhd and use fidgets for that, and I want to get a Pop it one but I can’t because people who don’t need them keep on getting so many of them for toys

they’re not something to flex, there’s a reason they’re called ‘fidget’ toys.

It calms me down eventually. When I feel frustrated the sounds make me calm down. And when I'm bored... So does it makes me use it the wrong way though?

honestly it doesn't help me with my anxiety at all, it kinda just makes me feel worse. but that's just me.
