Honesty I think Twisted Mansion can be kept completely intact. Like you can just make the excuse that all the antigravity stuff is just haunted house shenanigans

Sunshine Airport would be a great track to have in potential DLC for MK World as a means to fly off to another island during an intermission.

Thwomp Ruins would work so well in Mario Kart World, just remove the wall segment in the tunnel and place a rail there to still give players the option to reach an area where the rolling rocks can't reach, let players ride the water in the open area and the two anti-gravity walls in that area players can wall-ride on with ramps to assist in doing so.

"These not being split between nitro and retro will never not bother me." I felt the same, but now Nintendo is doing it again in MK World haha.

Funny that dolphin shoals would still need a total rework since underwater isn't real

So I guess we technically both did and didnt get antigravity back it seems. But I really dig the wall riding since it could make the optional wall selections more interesting by letting you jump off midway.

I gotta say wall riding and grinding seem more engaging than anti gravity.

You'd be surprised about what you could get away with if you don't have anti-gravity in the track. Upside-down sections and even 90 degree sections are impossible but steep slopes can go very steep. Take a look at the Mario Kart Wii modding scene, they've pulled it off for basically every track with both anti-gravity and gliding.

for the record, the anti grav section in cloudtop cruise is basically a giant letter C; the verticality is very extreme

The wall-bits would totally be wall riding now that World exists.

i find it kind of funny how they're called nitro courses even though, if i recall correctly, the only mario kart to call them that was DS, and the DS' internal codename was also nitro

i always felt the antigravity kinda looses it wowness since from your pov most of the time itll look static and from your perspective its kinda the same as just driving a normal track. it does look cool from far away though

3:50 A 3rd option exist : just use the new wallride mechanic
ThornHawthorne (21 hours ago)
12:04 if you switch to Peach, her ponytail will tell you (within limitations of the rigging on her model.) It’s always funny to start a race sideways or upside-down and see it straight back or all the way to the side

6:30 Someone did a custom track for Shy Guy Falls in Mario Kart Wii and added a tunnel to go to the top of the mountain instead of directly up the waterfall.

About Hyrule Circuit. Hitting the 3 spin boosters allows the ramp where the sword is to appear. Spin boosters kinda only appear on anti-gravity, so there would be no point in them being there if you remove the anti-gravity, meaning you would have to make some change.

3:34 well that won’t need any tweaking for those wall paths because now you can literally wall ride
