Keep in mind that Trajan's reputation for justice and care for his country was so great that even the Ancient Church wrote of him as a great man and ethical, just ruler, despite his paganry.

Trajan is like one of those managers at your work that is really good at their job, motivates his team, is fair in resolving work issues/conflicts, goes out of his way to make time for everyone and is liked and respected by everyone in the workplace. I've encountered a couple of managers like this in my work life so far, and they still fell a bit short on 1 or 2 of those qualities. Trajan is a rare breed.

I always wished to be Trajan and have a column like his.

Trajano ha pasado a la historia como uno de los mejores emperadores de Roma. Pero el conquistador de los dacios no nació en Roma, sino que fue el primer emperador romano de origen "extranjero", no solo porque vio la luz en Hispania, concretamente en la ciudad de Itálica (cerca de la actual Sevilla), en la provincia de la Bética, sino porque su familia era de ascendencia indígena; su caso fue típico del ascenso que en el siglo I d.C. vivieron los provinciales en el Imperio. Aunque no todo fue fácil. Su carrera hasta la púrpura imperial pasó por diversas etapas.
