Finally - some information that is other than kicking, hitting, screaming or pulling the dogs apart. It tells you what to do WHILE its happening, not only before and after.

Just adding to disrupt some of the commenters saying the ONLY way to get a release is break stick or kill the dog. While my pittie has never had an incident, I’ve used the choke technique at the dog park at least 3 times to get a dog to release its bite on another dog’s neck. It works the same as a rear naked choke in MMA. A leash around the neck right under the jaw line and ears, lift, twist, and if need be, use the free hand to press a C-shape into the neck under the jaw. They’ve all released in 10 seconds or so.

Pit bulls can be the most lovable creatures that’s true. All dogs can bite. That’s also true. When a pit bull locks it’s jaws on something, it’s a death grip. They lock their jaws. Jeez you need a plastic stick to pry their jaws open. Pit bulls have a high pray drive by nature. So they will chase and catch and death grip anything. A sweet dog can turn into a killing machine. People say their dog is a sweet baby and great with their kids. That’s fine until your dog decides it’s going after something it wants. Another dog, a child

When I ride my bicycle, pit bulls are by far the most aggressive dogs towards me. I'm going to get some dog spray in case of an attack and hope it works. If not, I'll work on them with my lock blade Buck knife and hope for the best.

Makes my stomach turn. The helplessness of trying to break up dog fights gives me nightmares. I don't want to deal with it anymore.

That took a long time. Glad it was just a pillow and not another dog. In which case, like you said, it’s not going to be as easy

There’s no place for these dogs. I’ve been attacked by two of these and one caused a fair bit of damage to my wrist., the other I had a leather jacket on that saved my arm. I’m a dog lover and have and have had large dogs my whole life and I know how to handle them. This breed is a just too dangerous and unpredictable. I’m a big guy over 6 foot and we’ll built and I’m telling you when you only have one hand to get it off it’s not easy. If one of these grabs a kid they’re fucked. Yeah they’re cute 99% of the time but the damage potential is too great in my opinion. It wouldn’t be a cliche to say a large percent of the owners are that “tough guy” that use them to make them look “tough” which in itself is rather sad unfortunately.

I carry a Protech 4” long blade with a spear head design. Would one of these into the back of its skull release its bite from an innocent dog?

A gun is easier to use to save my own life after saving my yorkies life.
