I don't think I've really ever thought about PAMA's story being such a tragedy, but it really is. Harper just wanted to make things more efficient, to help her friends, but then her friends weren't deemed efficient enough. PAMA wanted to do its job, but peak usefulness would only be reached if there weren't humans messing things up.
