Description
Yo, welcome to my YouTube channel 👋
My name is Lydia, I’m a singer/songwriter based in London and I upload videos of me singing various fancy tunes. Covers? Sure! Original songs? Why not! Nerdcore songs? On the odd occasion! Turning Disney Princesses into villains? Hell ya! Check out my most recent upload and subscribe if you’re feeling fancy!
If you have any questions or just want to have a chat then join the discord below! I often miss comments and thinks it’s safer to have a public forum where questions can be asked than getting DMs so ask your questions there.
For enquiries contact me and my team at management@lydiathebard.com, please only email if you are over the age of 18. I'm always interested in talking with artists, animators and composers about potential collaborations with thumbnails/animatics/instrumental tracks! I have limited availability for singing collaborations but do still get in touch!

I love how, despite this technically being a "villain" song, Mirabelle is mostly just defending herself and Bruno. Like, she's calling out everyone here and it's beautiful.

I like now straightforward Mirabel is.

I like how Mirabel said "How's it feel to stain YOUR family name", not "OUR family name". It kinda shows just how dissociated she's become with her own family and I love it

I love how the song is her villain story but still shows how kind natured she is by simply having her call everyone out for their horrible behavior and neglect

Honestly, a villain song where the villain points out all of the heroes’ flaws saying “this is why I do the things I do,” making the heroes doubt themselves, would be pretty chilling

Mirabel literally has a backstory that would inspire any villain. The fact she wasn't evil shows that she's stronger than the rest of her family.

I feel the phrase "The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth." fits this song well.

I love this. It’s the epitome, of the saying, “A child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth.”

I like to imagine that the house supported Mirabel which is why it made no attempt to stop her from taking the candle. Casita and Mirabel clearly have the closest bond throughout the movie.

In the movie, Bruno did say he didn't know whether Mirabel would save or destroy the miracle, so this is entirely possible! I love how it fits into the story so smoothly!

Its kinda crazy that the reason Mirabel didn't get a gift was because Alma lost sight of why she was given a miracle. The only reason Antonio got a gift was because Mirabel didnt want him to have a gift to be useful, she wanted him to have a gift because she wanted him to be happy.

You know what I noticed. She never calls out Camilo, Luisa or Antonio. I think honestly she knows they are the only three who cared about her besides her parents who tries stand up for her in the movie. Imagine if she took Antonio with her as the house was falling apart.

“Finally free from chasing your love” NOW THIS IS HOW YOU DO A MODERN VILLAN SONG. Like it’s dramatic but just the right amount and there isn’t any break for humor. Just pure intimidating energy from someone in pain and done with it all. The people who made this have serious talent

I really love the line "How's it feel to stain your family name?" because it's totally mocking the fact that the family and Abuela especially are so focused on having this "perfect" image/reputation and Mirabel is taking that all away in a matter of seconds.

I think the most haunting thing about this is Antonio crying right at the end. Without an innocent child for her to focus her kindness on, this villain story is very possible. the entire song is a string of reprises & i love it.

I like how the original version was about how Bruno's visions impacted the family, but this version is about how the whole family impacted Mirabel! You did such a good job at flipping the script!

I love how this is not even far off from the movie. Bruno explicitly says that her fate is uncertain. In the movie, we see her taking the "good path", but this was like, the other option.

This one green eye that is seen through Mirabel’s glasses is so creepy, and so is her smile… It’s like straight out of a horror story. I would love to see casita under her rule, that would be one hell of a haunted mansion.
