Fun fact: the story of Texas red wasn’t a real thing but I’m sure there were situations very similar that happened in history tho. However, the “big iron” was a real gun. It was a .45 caliber copy of the Colt single-action Army revolver with a cut-down Marlin riffle barrel. Robins saw it in a gun shop and it inspired this song!
