ran into a leveling party my first time playing while I was qued as tank. Said "I dont know this place, sorry if I get lost" each player replied "been a long time since ive had a good ole 'get lost' in dungeon group." the entire time they proceeded to tell me nothing and let me lead the party. I wish I could commend all of them.

Clicked on this thinking "Oh great, a 40 minute tutorial" and now I'm staying for his voice.

about the boss mechanics, it looks a lot like wow, but with better combat effects and visuals.......you convinced me to both subscribe and buy the game.

This is probably one of the most detailed guides for any mmo that I've seen

the one thing I do want to include about this is that emnity/aggro/hate it is the tanks the to keep it and secure it but it is also dps and healers job to use their many emnity reduction abilities whether it would be to help new players learning tanks or in closer to end game content.

I'd like to emphasize just a few things that I think you may have gone over a bit too quickly. For one: class and job quests unlock not only abilities and sometimes gear that you won't be able to obtain otherwise, but they contain a usually very compelling story that fits with that class/job. I've skipped over some jobs due to preconceptions only, but the gameplay and especially the job questlines really add a whole extra dimension and made me love quite a few of those classes/jobs! As you did, I recommend taking the time to do the job quests and do them whenever you can! Second, those 'side quests' that you dismissed a bit too fast tend to flow into very good and nice story telling, and some are actually needed to unlock other things (beast tribes, chiefly). Don't confuse to them be typically 'I'm too lazy and my leg itches, go kill twenty vermin for me', because that's definitely not what these quests are! Third: you emphasize gaining experience, which is of course the goal of any RPG game, but I wouldn't gain experience just for the sake of gaining it. Play the Main Scenario Quest (MSQ), and do the odd dungeon and FATE (Full Active Time Event), side-quest, leve-quest etc. at your own pace and mood, but just by going through the game and doing the MSQ, you'll get experience as a natural occurence, which is how I would recommend you view experience gains in this game. Enjoy the game, because there's content across the entire leveling experience! (Do NOT use WoW as a reference point for this game...) Finally: it may take you quite some time to finish the MSQ, but do not let this deter you. The MSQ is at the very heart of the game and tells the story, ties dungeons to a worthwhile objective beyond loot and is an overall amazing experience. Since it plays like a visual novel, it really drags you into the game that much more!

I do all the sidequests though usually after finishing the main story while leveling other jobs or waiting on ques or need a small extra tick in EXP. The Sidequests are pretty much all actually really interesting if you want to learn more about the world and the characters in it and some do actually provide a few useful things or help you navigate areas you haven't spent much time in.

Thank you for this guide. I recently downloaded the demo to try to get into this game. It’s my first MMO and I had high hopes, but found myself over my head very quickly.
