All you need for the vibrator is a sawzal with out a blade, Just touch it to the table and hit. works like a charm!

don't ever use paper towel.the wood fibers it leaves behind will get into your finish. use a microfiber cloth that won't shed.

You can also just use a random orbital sander (without sandpaper) on the form itself to help the concrete settle. Works like a charm!

Really liked your attitude toward this 1st time project.  I agree that it can be stressful and that mistakes can be made, but mistakes = experience = skills.  The satisfaction that comes witth something you made yourself also weights alot in the balance in the end.  Its not always a simple 1st degree "will I save money" thing.  GJ i will surely try this in the future.
