one review suggested the bass processor included compression (???) - perhaps a cheaper compressor circuit than Aphex's "Optical Big Bottom" approach. What we don't seem to have anymore are dynamic range expanders - theire one of sorts in Diamond Cut's DCART set of tools which includes models for many preamp tubes, and harmonic effects such as even order enhancement.
