i own the regular model,the one that looks like the edgepro! because i couldn't remove the slope/play from its pivot system,i just replaced it with a ball joint rod end and totally fixed this problem,i now am getting proper bevels on my knifes,i recommend other people try dong this,i never thought the pivot on this copy or EP worked in the first place!i just got tired of messing up my good knifes,thank you.

I'd say the guide is supposed to be loose, as you can then apply force without counterpressure. I only want the angle to the blade fixed, not the actual back and forth or left and right of the stone. That said, yours seems to be exceptionally loose. If it troubles you, simply adding a silicone or nylon washer between main pivot and angle clamp would likely do the same thing. I never had an issue with this.

Also you can move vertical stand 2cm forward. Just drill a hole in your wooden base and fix it with nut. This allow you to use full surface of your stone. Longer stone lifetime.

I replaced the swivel mechanism, and the bar that slides through it. All you need is a tie rod end, M8. 8mm precision ground bar. Drill a 7.5 mm hole through the threaded part of the tie rod end. Thread the end of the bar with M8 die nut. and there you go. Add an M8 bolt or thumb screw, and you have a very smooth, rock solid slide mechanism.

Beside locking nut, you can use couple of plain washers stacked together and lubricated. This also helps for smooth movement. This system is used for laptop screen hinges.

I did something similar, except I used a couple of neodymium magnets, about 28mm round by 4mm thick, and I didn't have to cut anything, they stuck right to the table with heaps of strength.
