Description
I am playing by feel after a challenge to begin taking up music from other composers. Kevin Moore of Dream Theater encouraged me to try working with music technology. I had early work mashing up Stockhausen and Tricky and then my box computer died. A few decades later, I saw La Monte Young's advice for musicians and I became completely fired up to finally give it a go. I'm incredibly lucky to have husband and composer Karl Montevirgen as a sounding board and quick, hey can I grab you to play on this? Thank you kindly for listening if you are here. I enjoy putting together images, paintings and photography for my videos. I'm now starting to do more narrative work interspersed with my sound experiments, largely improvised. The sound palette is inexhaustible. I'm currently workshopping poetry at Beyond Baroque and finally taking art classes at NYSS. Comments are welcome. I'm open to collaboration. #Atmospheric #meditative #improvised #experimental -S.R Montevirgen

Reading your poem while listening to your piece was quite moving. The warbling string duet is mystical and mournful. I like the visual allusions to particles and fractals in your animation, and the pulsating heart-like blob that appears at 1:31.

She did some very special electronic music! Interesting to use the Fibonacci Sequence to form a poem. I guess it very soon will become too long! Great tribute to Catherine Christer Hennix!

Gorgeous composition & poem! I'd only heard of Catherine Hennix, but never actually listened to her work till now, what a great artist! And I love the reference/tribute to Moebius/Giraud too, he's probably the best French comic artist ever!!

those howling background tape voices are amazing, almost like a didgeridoo, amazing work, an interesting intersection of Moebius and Henry Flynt.
