My name is Ana and I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. This channel is all about my journey to grow cacti, succulents and other plants that thrive in a desert environment. I have a passion especially for growing cacti. I want people to be able to see beyond their prickly facade and to appreciate their unique ability to adapt to extreme weather conditions. Most importantly, I wish to show the world that cacti produce one of the most diverse, beautiful and colorful flowers. This channel features how-to videos, plant care tips and tricks, visits to various gardens and nurseries, learning from people with the same passion and showcasing the beauty of desert gardening.
I am hoping to connect to other cactus and succulent lovers, that we may learn from each other’s experiences, while I share mine… over a cup of coffee!

Found a cactus at Home Depot that was ready to bloom but it looked weird so nobody bought it..... until I came along it bloomed the same night I bought it. I was very fortunate

Your cactus flowers are very bright and pretty. I have some large tropical orchid cactus that flower every summer. I have a red and white flower varieties. The white flower variety has huge flowers 15 cm across. I grow them in hanging baskets. I usually forget to fertilize my smaller desert cacti. I sometimes use a weak solution of orchid fertilizer.
