Desi was AMAZING ! I had no idea he had reached that level of musicianship - no doubt in my mind he got private lessons with Buddy and other Greats of the time. He definitely got his Daddy's Drum Gene.... Thank you for this Nair Bas : )

I love how Buddy controls his movements where he isn't wasting any energy. It's one thing to bang hard on the drums for a few minutes but if you have to play any length of time, economy of movement is important.

This episode of Lucy made me fall in love with the drums. I wanted to play the drum in band but we couldn’t afford the school snare drum, a Ludwig Acrolite. Now I have two and they are my favorite snares. Someone had asked about the Zilco cymbals. I think Zilco was a division of Paiste.

The entire episode is a blast. Buddy's sarcasm shines throughout.
