Charu Suri is an Indian born jazz composer who fearlessly treads genres and styles, blending Indian ragas into jazz, and developing a voice all her own. One of the few female jazz composers to emerge from India, she has performed thrice at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Birdland Jazz Club, and has toured around the world. She has collaborated with world-renowned artists including John Patitucci, Joe Lastie from Preservation, Steve Gadd, Yo Yo Ma, Edgar Meyer and Berta Moreno and Kobi Arad. She is a voting member of the GRAMMYs and has received several awards and recognition for her work including her ground-breaking "Book of Ragas" and 'Ragas and Waltzes." In May, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra performs her work in orchestral form for the very first time. Suri returns to Carnegie Hall with her band on November 11, 2023, for the fourth time.
