Another tip: go in with plunge attack, it worked for me

Entered another dimension for a moment xD, managed to do it with Qiqi only

I was able to pull this trick off the other day as Qiqi and then swapping to Sucrose, so it might just require that the character you swap to be taller than the one you started with, like when you replaced Barbara with Ningguang. Given that you can't swap your active character in a tight area outside of the "Party Setup", it's likely this is the reason why.
