I agree with you completely. Don't get me wrong, his tracks are great, but i don't feel that energy, sass and drive of classic soundtracks in Tee Lopez tracks, I don't feel that his tracks is "Badass", they are more like dance music at a party.  He sometimes produces driving tracks, but this is rather an exception to the rule.  Just listen to Pinball Carnival from Rintaro Soma and you can immediately feel the energy, he writes tracks much better in the spirit of classic Sonic games.
