We came to school with our stompers and during lunch had pull offs. Some would mod theirs with extra tires glued on to the rims (8,12,16 tires), some would mod them with adding watch batteries in addition to the AA battery (a favorite was the chevy blazer and ford bronco for that), and some would mod them with different parts from models, lights, and tires and such. A very fun and creative time with lots of fun playing with them.

9v battery made them scream. Put staples in the tires any ice hill you wanted to destroy was no problem!! lol how I miss being a kid!! Lol

This collection is so cool! I'm sure this is really close to your heart...I'm from India these never made it here except of hotwheels exposure we get to learn abt these only now unless somebody's uncle or aunt got them from the US. The visuals give a very 80s feel to the cars. Happy collecting!

2:13 I had that Tiger tank. The treads worked surprisingly well, and it could crawl across lawn grass. Sadly, all that remains is the turret.

They should remake them!

I had three of the 81 models (the ones with the foam tires) and 1 RR as well, we used to cut tracks in sandboxes and let the trucks run laps, depending on the mood we'd either run 1 track and let them run or mirror tracks and time trial them. BTW the foam (Indoor) tires were the best for sand tracks easy enough to clean with a little soap and water
