Funerals are such a scam and a ripoff. Go green - cardboard box or just a cloth sack, no vault, no embalming. Let your body fertilize the ground like it's supposed to.

I'm opting for a green burial. No embalming, just wrapped in a cloth sheet and buried. Totally legal in Minnesota and can be done on private property. Just have the plot surveyed and recorded with the county.

Collapsed graves are a lot more common before the early 1900s when wood coffins were used.

In England we don’t have caskets and vaults, we just have simple wooden coffins and we add additional soil to the grave to fill in any future depression.
