iirc There's developer commentary explaining that originally players that interacted or approached the tumble dryer would have a baby necromorph jump out at them.

It’s funny how in a game full of gore, violence and horror.

If I don't recall wrong, that puke-morph in the bathroom was someone's grandma

While much more overt than this, the Puker that crawls out of the bathroom is the very recently turned mother of an NPC you see running away as you approach the room. I think moments like this are needed in more horror games; Things that really seal events as something that affects EVERYONE, even anonymous tenants of large-scale apartment complexes.

Holy sweet hell, I legitimately never noticed this before. Sounds like maybe a kid went in there to hide and it switched on? MAXIMUM OOF

The worst part about this is that you can't do anything. The moment you understand the situation, the game takes away your ability to do anything about it. Now you are left to consider and reconsider the horror you encountered, but you are of no help, you can only exit the room. You can only commit to the worst-case outcome.

You know, I'm just grateful that I'm not the ONLY ONE that's STILL playing this shit... like it's new!

Shame on EA for closing Visceral; they were amazing at creating an unsettling atmosphere.

What's even more sad that it stops moving when the lights turn back on meaning the child either died or they're in shock

This is the reason why Dead Space 2 despite having more action oriented it still maintain it horror by moments like these.

Proof that true horror is not knowing what lies ahead.

Honestly the whole sequence of the first part of the game where the outbreak is in full swing and people are screaming and crying as their loved ones turn into monsters and you're helpless to do anything about it is just the most fantastic part of the game, seeing people running and fleeing and dragging people away from their transforming friends and families, 10/10

There are so many possibilities for this. It could have been a hallucination or real. If real, how did it happen? Did the parent go insane from the marker and stuff the kid in there? Did the kid go in there to hide and it started? Was the kid being turned?

I always wondered where the wailing was coming from. This a whole side story with no lore to it. I need answers. What was going on at visceral games to do this?

This game is a straight masterpiece! The atmosphere, the feels like this will never be repeated nor replaced no matter how many times they try. Even the electronic arts out did themselves with this one.

I'd actually put this moment as the second most disturbing moment in the game, the first being the school level.
