man i grew up in a pretty poor area and the way kids acted in school was wild, seen kids wack teachers, make teachers break down and make them switch schools because of how bad it was for them to deal with shithead kids. my school was 1 half vs the other besides the preppy kids, stabbings n beatdowns all the time. i was lucky to be someone respected by mostly everyone bc i put myself in everyones group and fucked around, kinda mediated the bs between groups and minded myself enough to never be a target

I used to live in one of the worst places you could live at in Chicago, and I absolutely hated it. it was disgusting and filthy and I ended up getting expelled from three school for consecutive fighting (standing up to bullies and the racist), before moving back to Maryland and let's just say, it ain fun here either...

I can't imagine what those quiet kids gotta go through bruh.

While I did necessarily grow up with this type of environment around me(drug dealing, drinking , fights, cursing, and the overall sluggish neighborhood where violence was common) and the lack of a real parental figure since my mother didn’t really communicate with me and my brothers, I did notice now how she mostly sheltered those behaviors away from us and tried her best to keep us safe. Plus I mostly hanged with my brothers so that’s chill and what not plus I’m happy she’s more open and talkative about our situation seeing how we eventually worked to get out of that environment and live a more stable life away from the baloney sandwiches and noodles
