You are spot on about the stupid plastic rails on the Surefire. I have one, and the plastic DOES break. I contacted Surefire about getting some replacements; guess what? that is the one single part that they refuse to provide replacements for! What a nightmare! I would even be willing to pay for some new rails, but they don't offer that option. So now I have a nice little $200 paper weight. Thanks Surefire.

thanks, man. I have TLR-1 and TLR-2 on my 2 pistols and was gonna get a surefire on my magnum revolver, but you just convinced me to stay with streamlight and get the HL versions next time. thanks, dude.

I own a X300 ultra and have it mounted on my AR. I don't know what this guy is talking about. I love it! Its bright as hell, easy enough to install and remove, and as of the "plastic" its the same stuff Glocks and Magpul mags are made out of... so in other words good luck braking it.

And the Streamlight is only $130 or so.  Screw SureFire.

Awesome review man. I too almost went with the X300, but the TLR I'm definitely gonna get now.

I've used the TLR-1s sense they've been out and now they have the HL model shown here, which around twice the lumens, and they have them on eBay for $122.. Fantastic price..!!
