Why would intelligent aliens bother with us? More importantly why do we assume other intelligent life would be aggressive and hostile? Those are human characteristics and it's best not to make assumptions. As for the Fermi paradox; we've only just left our backyard. It seems silly making a judgement when one keeps that in mind.
