Half of Simba's lionesses got gobbled up during the battle. So one more lioness on Simba's side would just be more meat for the Outsiders. It clearly wouldn't take them long to pick her bones clean once she's down.

Just because Vitani was the only one who joined the pridelanders, doesn’t mean Simba would of died. In fact, with one more lioness for the pridelanders, and one less lioness for the outlanders, would mean that the pridelanders would have more of a chance of winning rather than the outlanders.
