The James Webb Space Telescope is the successor to Hubble. It is an infrared telescope with a 6.5m mirror and a sunshade the size of a tennis court! Webb launched on December 25, 2021, and its first images and data were released on July 12, 2022.

Super well explained, so that a casual tech enthusiast like me understood this stage! The super hard work of countless brilliant people on JWST has resulted in a product of science and engineering that seems really magical to me. It's a tool though, and I can't wait for the discoveries it makes possible!
