Since all logos should already be vectors it's easier to just import the SVG. If not it's actually faster to recreate the logo in Inkscape and import. You are always going to want your logo as a vector anyway so you can change the size without quality loss so it fits an ink pen or scales up to fit the side of a skyscraper. Blender handles SVG very well and lets you extrude and bevel before making it a mesh. Also Inkscape can vectorize simple bitmaps easy and it saves a lot of time. Same result just a faster workflow.

Hey folks. Just want to let you know that if you have imported a plain .svg file into blender. You may not see it. It is there, you need to zoom in on your cursor and scale it back up to what you want. Has to do with the way the SVG file is imported into blender, that shrinks the file.

I just found out if you make sure you start your design from Top view instead of front, when you close the Bezier curve. its fills in. shaded. For some reason at any other angle the model gets screwed up and will not fill in.

Great tutorial. Finally you help me figure out how to use curves correctly in blender. Now to make a perfect center hub for my rims I'm modeling and bake them to a normal map and texture, and throw that on the car instead of my crappy modeling attempt lol
