This is awesome, as an engineer and a piano player, this is beautiful. The notes actually have character, and sound much less robotic than a lot of other projects that I have seen and I also LOVE the anime Your Lie in April. Excellent job!

Hi, I really love what you've done here and I wish more people would see this.

Couldn't get any better, everything is just perfect!! if there was no screen here i would think someone was playing, and not a robot, this is a humanely robot :D

Hi @likevvii, really impressive work that you have done. I have a question. I really can't understand how to control the speed of the solenoid through coding. Apologise but my knowledge with coding is not great. There is not much info out there for velocity sensitivity. They all talk about on/off trigger. A solenoid has only two wires, +ve and -ve. The -ve wire goes to the mosfet (middle pin). Then one pin of the mosfet goes to ground (Left) and the other one goes to the adafruit PWM servo controller board (PCA9685). Please do correct me if I am wrong.

Hey! Thank you for this great demo! I'm trying to build a self playing Instrument with Arduino, so this is really helpful! I just jumped over solenoids and its great to see that they work with musical instruments!

Great job! I am doing a similar system. From your answers to the questions asked, I am learning.

How can anyone dislike this? Cant see anyone playing like that

amazing good job. I wish so much I had that system.

This is really great! Definitely avoids some of the mechanical noises that bedevil other builds. I also love the fact that you build the mechanism over the keyboard rather than incorporating it into the piano undercarriage. Are you able to move the works to another piano?

Hi! How did you get the solenoids to play so quietly? I can't hear any loud solenoid noise... Which solenoids did you use? Greetings from Brazil!

I really want to build something like this, it is awesome! Did you use solenoids or something else to press the keys?

Hi, Im curently trying to build a similar project. What is the board connecting to the mosfets? is it a board that i can buy online?
