One of the things about this, all of those monsters words... Are never heard by Frisk on the surface. The connection obviously wouldn't be able to make it to the surface. If the connection did, monsters would have been contacting the humans on the surface long ago. Frisk-- the phone they have. It never got the call. It's just why the caller says something at the beginning like "Is anyone there?" No one answered. This is all just a message. All the emotions and feelings put into the calls are never heard. They are all talking to themselves to a phone.

I am imagining Frisk playing this at a piano recital, followed by glorious applause from all of the monsters, including Mettaton, who is, of course, dressed impeccably for the occasion.

This was the moment when I first played Undertale that I cried. I cried my eyes out. This song struck such a chord with me and the things the characters said made you feel so special. This version of the song perfectly recreates that same feeling I felt when I first played through Undertale. Well done, this was a beautiful walk down memory lane. ;w;

Especially since this is already such an underrated song in the game, this arrangement easily takes it's place as the best rendition I've ever heard. Such a bittersweet, emotionally complex credits theme has incredible potential for melancholy beauty, and you exploited every ounce of that potential.

This song made me incredibly sad when I first played the game. I didn't understand... I had done everything I could, why couldn't I save everyone? It was bittersweet to hear that everyone was still optimistic, they still missed me, and yet... I was above the ground and they were stuck there. I had failed.

* you chose to play a song, all the monsters gathered around, the all seem to love your music. at the end, you bowed, and went back to your quest

Here's something that popped in my head as I was listening to this: what if the soundtrack in the game is music Frisk is singing in their head? I have always written music in my head, since I was small, though not to the extent that I hear it constantly. But maybe Frisk is extremely talented, and their "muse" is always with them. I picture them growing up to be a renowned composer, writing all of the music we hear in the game. Perhaps they play "An Ending" on the piano like this, in the future of the neutral ending, looking back on their adventures, the sadness, the beauty of it all.

"An Ending" is one of the least-remixed tracks in the Undertale OST, and yet, this one makes up for that so incredibly well with the amount of emotion and chords put into this. Well done!! Can't listen to this enough!
