The cobra button is just another tool in the tool box. More than most other maneuvers though, you just have to make sure it's the right tool for the job!

The cobra maneuver is initiated by the cobra button, the maneuver doesn’t have to start out from a level horizontal position, this is a cobra.

Video aside, I find it a little wierd that air to air combat is called "Dog"fighting and not bird-fighting

Could just fly with FC always off, I usually do in dogfights. You dont have to always spam AOA but when you need it, its right there, and youre already gonna know how the plane is going to react as you already dont have the computer dampening.

This is not a cobra maneuver - this is just Sukhoi having better turn radius and off-boresight missile kill.

only problem is if the missile would miss you would be to slow to keep rate fighting him and he would be on your ass in 10 seconds

The head mounted HUD and off bore missile tracking kind of made this pointless. It can work but if it doesn’t all your energy is gone and you’re dead.
