They're looking for Jasper because she assumes that Peridot exploded with the communicator. She didn't know there was someone like Garnet around to get rid of it for her by punching it into the sky. So Peridot is probably considered to be already taken care of and Jasper's just next on the list.

Well to Yellow diamond's knowledge Jasper didnt betray home world and was still stuck on earth. Jasper is extremely powerful and is still useful to home world so she sent out a ship to get him. Both Lapis and Peridot are considered traitors and will die once the cluster emerges. There isnt much to think about :P. The point on the googles was cool though and Jasper's weapon is equipped with googles to further your argument. This might explain Garnet's glasses as well.

Perhaps yellow diamond only wants to find jasper because jasper is more of a threat than peridot. If the original resistance was started by rose QUARTZ than yellow diamond may think that if jasper feels the same way as peridot in that the earth should be protected, than jasper (a Quartz like rose) would be a bigger threat. So she would want to get jasper because she didn't want her to start a new resistance. There may be holes in my theory but it me just a thought.

My theory is that Jasper is one of the last gems that witnessed the rebellion and the war that happen on earth which leads to 2 options :

My theory is, shortly after the destruction of Malachite, lapis tries to go to home world. She communicates to a gem back on home world via a wailing stone. The receiver of the message was probably of a high power an informed one of the diamonds. Something tells me that it would've been one of Blue diamond's sapphires. After lapis comes clean about fusing with Jasper, the receiving gem is outraged and warns that lapis could be punished for agreeing to fuse. Blue diamond wanted lapis and jasper broken, but yellow diamond decided against it since she assigned Jasper as the escort and lapis (even though I theorize she belongs to blue diamond) as the informant. But she still wanted jasper in prison and lapis put in a lower class position for a while for forceful fusion.

Good Theory! Im thinking that YD believes Jasper went rogue and sabotaged the mission.

I think the rubies were sent to retrieve jasper so she could be taken in for questioning/punishment (probably not shattering, since nobody knows she fused with lapis...yet) on homeworld. If she was the leader, most of the blame for the failure of the mission might have been put on her. she might even have been given an alterior mission of some kind that yd considered more important than escorting peridot and checking on the cluster, meaning it'd be a bigger deal for her to have failed.

Since Yellow Diamond Knows that peridot is much of anything, with no powers (even though she does have powers yellow diamond doesnt know about) Yellow diamond looks for jasper with she is the one with the most perfect exit hole and is powerful and about the same strength as a fusion she wants Jasper Since she is overall strong and has much use

I have a theory that since yellow diamond doesn't care about earth and it's resources so she leaves them on earth and something might insult her like when she see's the crystal gems or something she will summon the diamond authority to destroy the gems because earth is like a rebel gem sanctuary so they will go to earth and try to rid the life and you seen monster reunion jasper failed to succeed her mission so they will take it out on the crystal gems when she finds out they destroyed the ship and jasper was not strong enough to stop garnet the fusion and homeworld dislikes fusion so thats how jasper will get corrupted and maybe garnet and the crystal gems be punished in homeworld so you know they'll have to fight her first
