All these people crying in the comments. If you ignore stats, abilities and movepool's, how the fuck would you determine if a Pokemon is good or not? Your favourite Pokemon may be Magikarp, but guess what? That doesn't mean it's not a shitty, useless Pokemon with terrible stats.

You should use your favorite Pokémon. The the "bests". What fun is there using a strong Pokémon of which you don't even like the design or suits your style? As an NPC once said, you should try to win with your favorites. That's what I do. I don't plan teams ahead. I find a Pokémon I like, I catch it and use it. Then, AFTER making up my team, I plan a strategy with whatever I have. It's much more enjoyable that way. I won't use Dishwasher Rotom just because it's super strong, I don't like it! Of course, this is just an exemple. Pokémon has always been about the adventure for me.
