Not only all of the factors mentioned about Austin, but the fact they tried it at Wrestlemania in Texas, Austin's home state. People just went nuts that he killed The Rock, there was no heel reaction from the crowd whatsoever.

completely agree with Cole. He was awful as a heel. He was annoying and not in a Bobby Heenan good heel way. He sucked and caused me just to mute my TV every time I heard his voice.
