I can only imagine this theme playing when Gordon's walking through city 17 for the first time. Looking at what the combine have done, the humans suffering, no children and no the drainage of resources. Than once he gets his crowbar and H.E.V suit. He thinks to himself, (it's time to fix the mistake I created)

Every time I hear this theme, I'm instantly reminded of that CNN/HLN series Forensic Files. I heard a similiar tune on it that made me think of how everything went wrong at Black Mesa. If it weren't a crime documentary show and more like the X-Files I can totally picture Black Mesa being on TV as some kind of adaption.

Whenever I listen to this, I get the feeling that Gordon Freeman is having something akin to a vietnam flashback (Black Mesa flashback?).

Am I the only one that things this sounds so sad and gets the feels?...

Gorgeous music! The complexity of sounds shows the careful talent and skill of the composer.

The music fits the facility so well. The start of it all, and that last dying hope of those scientists, thinking they will be saved.. What has science done? Dragged the world of half life into hell, Head first. This music is THAT good, That I had to make a comment about it. :P
