As a former technician, I could never understand why the engineers go out of their way to put maintenance items in the most inaccessible places! I always wet my battery trays and metal parts near the battery with water, then sprinkle well with baking soda to neutralize any acid. I let them sit awhile then rinse. You can also soak them in ammonia for a bit, just do that outside with the parts off of the vehicle. Good work!

Thanks for the how to Paul, the connectors on the fuel line to the filter look similar to the connectors on the Bandit from the tank to the fuel rail.
