Shannon, I have been paying a lot of attention to my stance since watching your sawing tutorials. I'm still a novice, and they are never perfect, either plumb or straight, one will be off slightly, but I'm getting a lot better, and I use your "just make the cut" mentality, and with just a little practice, got so much better. Like I said, still not perfect, but I'm getting there, and quickly. This will be the next thing I practice so thank you for shooting this.

You are brilliant my friend. I do not have a miter box or the miter saw. All I have is a hacksaw and your tutorial has saved me the bother of buying one since I am only doing moulding for a small powder room. Thanks again and God bless!

Used to used a Mitre saw but after watching your demo finally chirped up enough confidence to try it out. I had 2 not quite accurate starts but not far off. Then banged off about 10 in a row. All good.

Great point!  Sometimes we get in such a habit with the tools we use that it doesn't dawn on us that they are optional!  Nice job on that cut and great explanation of proper way to stand and align yourself to the cut.  I'm going to give it a try next time I pull out my saw.

Your cut is freaking awesome! This is exactly what I do! Takes a real steady hand, being mindful on every cut, prepare the slots beforehand. A sharp saw is crucial!

Excellent. Thank you. You obviously keep your saw in very good condition as well!

its something i do and thanks for sharing its hard to get a few friends i know to just use a hand saw for a straight cut, so its just time and patience ..

I saw from somewhere on the internet that it helps to use a sharp penknife to slightly mark out the line for cutting too, to help a little in the guiding the saw on cutting the wood.

Great cut by a very experienced woodworker. But what about me? I'd have to screw up a lot of pieces of wood before I'd be able to do that. Think I'd rather use the miter box. Thank for the vid though:)
