Probably my favorite race in the whole series, it was packing everything and everything it was built on. Between the pressure of remaining the best at the time to the emotional wreck his personal life was becoming with Natsuki and then everything Takumi had built up, crumbling down and leaving him with nothing but frustration and anger, it was all done so perfectly and IMO was easily the best writing out of all the story arcs and giving Takumi one of the best character developments in the series. The added track pick for this added on to how much it hurts to see Takumi like this.
