What amazes me about Sheboygan is the number of manufacturing companies that were there when this film was made -- Kohler, Bemis, Johnsonville Foods, and Wigwam Mills come to mind -- that are still there, still manufacturing in the Sheboygan area. Maybe I'm missing something, but in 21st Century America, that seems pretty impressive.

You can actually by THE SHEBOYGAN STORY at channel 8 (I believe that is what it is called). I am proud of this city and it's heritage.

Yeah, you're right. It's just evil how, back in the '50s, they made a nice movie about Sheboygan. Just sinister. (That was sarcasm, in case you didn't get it) As towns in the '50s and '60s went, I think Sheboygan was a pretty nice place to grow up.

Broad and wide and streets? It does not seem like that when I drive down them. They are narrow, hilly, and cracked.

@Beatnikzombie More like 100% different. The infrastructure is falling apart. Our streets are crumbling, yards are no-longer maintained in many areas of the city, crime has gone up substantially, and schools no longer give a good education.

@joshgrami Don't lump me in with "you people". Wisconsin was offered money to improve these things, but some idiot decided we didn't want it. The same guy who thought education was a silly drain of tax money.
