I noticed the doctor refused to chew through the umbilical cord. Is this standard proceedure?

That's actually a very good idea. It helps the students to learn from their mistakes and such, also avoiding potentially giving a complication to a mother, that could have been avoided. I wish we had something like that at the school I'm going to.

I personally think this is a cool idea. Medical students who are training to become OB's have something to practice on when there are no actual pregnant women. My sister has actually practiced on one of these and said that it was very interesting.

Very appropriate for today's world of complications in the delivery rooms. Love it

My nurse story is somewhat different. After my C-section I had a nurse who I actually really liked. She was very sweet. Well she was changing my son's diaper that night, the he was born which happened to be the 4th of July. He has always been a very strong kid and was one of those kids who could lift his head the day he was born. He always had a tendency to then throw his head back and when the nurse picked him up off the changing table that's exactly what he did and flipped right out of her...
