Unpopular opinion, I think you should be able to mine flint, and the flint and steel should be breakable, so you can craft more, so that characters with a recovery like ganon, falcon, and even ness can at least have a chance when the flint breaks. It also would make you more tactful with how you use it. But tis nothing but my opinion, so don't take it too seriously.
