I Always loved the DNA scan scenes, it shows that when Azmuth created the Omnitrix he knew that he wasn’t going to be able to collect every D.N.A Sample out there in the Universe. So he installed a Capture Mode so as to make sure that even on a planet with an unknown species, the Omnitrix could still fulfill its mission of bringing different members of species closer together. Azmuth truly was the First Thinker. He figured out that there was one thing more important in the Universe than fighting over Power or Control, one thing that held more value than a single species proving itself to be better or superior than others, that one thing… was the ability to understand others different from yourself, by putting yourself in their own shoes.

I really wished they used that a bit more in the original series and omniverse. Omniverse especially.

People crap on the Ultimatrix, but at least its scan function is probably the most useful out of them. The Prototype has to be touched by a potentially dangerous enemy, the OV omnitrix will lock you out of the Omnitrix if it notices an alien that's uncatalouged...and can notice it from out of orbit, so you have to search an entire planet in 30 seconds or it will lock you out. The Ultimatrix at least scans an alien from a distance, but close enough that you don't have to play Where's Waldo, but if you don't find Waldo, the Omnitrix bricks

Well for those who are wondering '' omnitrix did touch so many alien but they didn't got unlocked as transformation. It seems omnitrix doesn't capture mutated DNA. Like vilgax isn't pure of his DNA, he was a cyborg that time. Also unstable DNA. Also Writers.

If everytime a new alien touches the omnitrix he gets the DNA sample. Then why didn't he get Vilgax, An anodites dna, a osmosian Dna. Or argit, or pshypons species. There are so many alines that were uncatolouged Dna and were never scanned.
