Noticed these in my soil and freaked out. Glad to know they r beneficial. I used mosquitoe bits to water a few times because of a fungus gnat infestation. They must have come because of that may be? Not sure
AndrewOudin (10 minutes ago)
These are very benificial mites! They are predatory mites that eat fungus gnat larvae and other pests. Don't worry at all, be happy!
kashaustin7596 (17 minutes ago)
Geez. Thank God from the comments im seeing that they are beneficial. I have lots.
sherryjarecki1701 (28 minutes ago)
I have them in my fired bellied toad tank. I have co co nut fiber for sub straight.I believe they are mites. I took clear tape & stuck a couple of them on the tape & look at them with a magnifying glass. Definitely mites but im not sure what kind of mites. Im concerned that they mite (ha ha) be harmful to my frogs
alexalx182 (32 minutes ago)
blow at them. If they start jumping, they are springtails. If not, they are mites. I seriosly doubt they are springtails though, from the way they moving.
adampauley1618 (46 minutes ago)
They appear to be springtails witch are natural micro fauna that help decompose things and clean soil when you make terrariums you add them to keep it clean and healthy but I would look them up to be completely sure

Unfortunately I do not know. Indoor plant pests can be a problem, and sometimes it's hard to tell where or how they get started. I hope you get it identified.

I hate those things, I don't know what they are but they seem to be in most soils that are from the store, They must be really happy to have multiplied that heavy though. I wonder what they are
trevorjoyce4249 (2 hour ago)
Those look like mites to me. Maybe some plant based/safe insecticide will help. They don't look like larvae of any sort nor are they behaving like springtails.

Maybe soil mites?

So far the best thing I've heard from your commenters are their beneficial and oh my word thank you Lord in the name of Jesus! Was probably about eradicate all my carnivorous plants because of these little white specks moving around .

Hey, if you're still replying to the comments, I think I have them, just not in the soil. I had kept my notebook in the sun, near an area where our house plants are kept, few days back to remove humidity and they seem to have come along when I brought the notebook in. Now they're on every item of my shelf. Is this possible? Please help, I've already cleaned the area with white vinegar but they don't seem to go away completely. I'm freaking out (﹏)
theariesknowing4812 (18 hours ago)
I just had these in my bag of orchid bark & I definitely just sprayed fungicide on the plants & threw out my newly bought bark!

My king palms had the same thing. Ended up being a fungus disease. Killing all my baby king palms. It started with one dry lead and the spear pull.
