I've owned 2 Presa's, great dogs. Extremely intelligent with fantastic dispositions. Both of them growled in a similar manner when begging or whiniing, it must be something with the breed.

Agree 100%. My dad has an american bulldog not to look big but because his friend who had him previously couldn't look after him any more and wanted him to go to someone who would take good care of him. He's one of the most docile dogs I've ever met, I've only ever seen a couple of Presa as they are rare but they were very well behaved as well, all in their upbringing.

They are wonderful loyal and truly sweet dogs. They can be taught to be aggressive and they are certainly stubborn yet very intelligent dog but if socialized properly as a puppy they aren't remotely hostile.

i just watched it too. People make me sick. Get an alarm system if you need protection, don't rely on an animal. From what i've seen the people who own or want these dogs are usually the last people on earth who should.

If you get a dog like this you have to get him as a pup and be FIRM with him from day one. You have to show him that you are the alpha male. After you establish this, you will be ok. We had one growing up, the dog was a total pushover, my sister and her friends used to dress the dog up, step on him, trip over him and he just took it but his demeanor changed in one second the minute a stranger invaded our property. It was a thing of beauty.

I agree with you too. there should be harsh punishment for the owners of powerful breeds if their dogs attack or bite someone.

My Yellow Lab...now that is a dog to FEAR! She must be watched at all times. She too is fine with kids but Not so much with other dogs. Well not when there is food near by. So maybe it has less to do with the breed of the dog & more to do with what may have gone on with the dog before she was saved from neglect.
