1:20 Interstate 42 is connecting to Morehead City NC mainly because there is a state port there. It can also be used as a Hurricane Evacuation Route if it is ever needed. They originally bid on Interstate 40 to be extended from Raleigh back in the 70s, but lost out to Wilmington.

Not going thru Atlanta would be a big plus

If you're not a truck driver, you probably won't understand some of the routes

I-3 should be reserved for U.S. 101 in California. The entire road from I-5 in Los Angeles to I-80 in San Francisco is four-lanes or more, it simply doesn't meet Interstate standards all the way through. Parts like the Hollywood Freeway date to the 1940s.

NC resident here. They’ve been talking about commuter rails being established in the Triangle, however it keeps getting pushed back. Rather than wasting so much money on all these interstates, it would be way better to establish the commuter rail in the Triangle. When the rail is built, communities will be able to build density near the rail which will help with the terrible sprawl right now.

I-76 East in Pennsylvania and I-76 West in Colorado is how you use the interstate numbering system to give a nod to history or something outside the utiltarian numbering convention. Placing an I-3 designation on a route in the southeast is outside logic.

I hope that I-3 is never built, unless it is located west of I-5.

Should have Extended I 70 west towards California or at least towards Reno and I40 towards California via State route 58.

This will make it a lot faster to get to the next construction detour.
I know this will never happen, but they should find a way to extend I-24 to the Carolinas

I live between Lafayette and new Orleans and cant wait for i49 to be complete. this section is littered with red lights and j-turns- with red lights and there's slow downs to 55 mph in certain areas. also the portion in Lafayette is roughhhhh. lights for days and the road will make your filings fall out.

I-73 was supposed to run directly from Toledo Ohio to Columbus. This would be a very welcome route for people who drive from Toledo to Columbus.

The interstate system is named after General and President Ike. Specifically built for military and emergency reasons based on the German Autobahn. To evacuate Cities in case of emergency and threat of war. Giving people the ease of evacuation. Strategic built to move war goods rapidly too.

Missouri is working on trying to upgrade US-36 to interstate standards to extend I-72 from its current terminus at US-61 in Hannibal to presumably either I-35 in Cameron or I-29 in St. Joseph, also I wish there would be an I-51 that goes from I-40 in Conway, AR thru Jefferson City, MO (largest state capital without any interstate) and end at I-80 either in Iowa City or Des Moines
