This literally looks exactly like what you would expect from a movie based on a green ogre in the 90s. Like, a typical 90s cg movie.

I see why DreamWorks animators described this movie as torture

As funny and goofy as this guy is, I'm glad we have the Shrek we have.
HotFuss-gd9qr (47 minutes ago)
I feel good that the original Shrek test footage is found

I cannot believe Shrek had a glow up even before he became human

The animation and texture quality is INSANELY GOOD for 1996.

This Shrek is not love.

The subtitles helped a lot, I originally thought the Mugger said "Come here little fat boy" and Shrek said "Ah, fight me", idk if anyone else thought this before the subtitles

This is motion capture in 1996, I think it’s quite impressive not going to lie.

This has reawakened something inside of me I cannot possibly describe.

I wish Chris Farley could've lived a bit longer to see how Shrek improved in its animation style.

What I like about it this version of Shrek is the fact that both this version and Shrek’s current design aren’t afraid of any threats that humans try to pose at them
beeg_carl (9 hours ago)
this is really impressive animation for 1996 jesus

Shocked how many elements of this test footage ended up in the final film what with the pop songs and Shrek being hunted as an ogre. Wondering how the movie would have been if they kept the darker, almost Tim Burton-esque, aesthetic they have here.
