clearly, a 90's era house of an elderly man. it was not abandoned in the 70's. there are dates visible on the objects, especially a 1990 calendar. It is at 7.07 minutes.

This person/family or whoever must have abandoned in early 90's, given the paper saying "1990" on it... I feel sorry for them, what makes someone just up and leave their whole life frozen in time like that? Money? Illness? Death?... It's sad to see it left like this, but cool at the same time...

The Hoover washing machine that you found was only made from about 1957-1963. the way it worked was that the clothes would be in the large drum and you would fill it from the tap with a hose that was provided with the machine. The second step was to put the clothes in manually to the second drum which was the spin dry. This machine did not have a dryer so you would have to hang up your clothes. I hope this explains the confusion. The only reason I know this is because we happened to find one at a second hand store and had to ask my mother how to use it.

That place looks too clean to be abandoned completely ... I'm wondering if someone is looking after it, dusting it etc, but keeping it frozen in time.

Abandoned as in owner died or put in aged care, doesn't mean the house should be rummaged through..

IT'S CLEANER THAN MY HOUSE, NO DUST AT ALL, THAT'S WEIRD.

It's almost as if, back in the 70's, the guy just walked out of the house and never came home....

I think someone is still living here.

No okay as soon as I would have seen those magazines on the bed I would of been out of there, I feel like you found a house where someone brings their victims before they murder them...

The "washer" in the bathroom was a washer/spin dryer. The clothes were agitated in the tub on the left, then you would manually take the clothes from the left and evenly distribute them on the right to spin them out.  Don't ask me why they used the word "dryer" in it's name, it didn't really dry them. If the water wasn't too dirty on the left, you'd add another load.

This doesn't look abandoned but perhaps the owners are in care homes, or it's the subject of probate problems.
