Senna's qualifying laps are quite possibly the peak Ayrton experience.

Nobody beat that time indeed James. Back then a legend like Senna had to fight with his car all the way, just to stay on the circuit, let alone set a time with it. The car was like an uncontrollable beast and the drivers who could tame them were absolute heroes to us. That is a vastly important thing missing from F1 today.

Adelaide 1985 was amazing. Was there for that race and was there for Ayrton's last win in Adelaide in 1993.

Of all the great drivers I got to watch over my lifetime, and this includes all the world champion and contenders since Nigel Mansell. Easily the best driver I got to see was Ayrton Senna nobody had his ability. Nobody. No one before him, and no one after him has even come close. If you take every top driver from every era and put them in the same exact car, Senna comes out on top.
