All you have to do is go to the 'Tech Tree' tab underneath the 'Battle' button at the top of the screen to unlock modules with experience that you earn by playing with any tanks that are in game. When you research a tank, you can buy the tank with in game credits that you also earn by playing. For that, look in the 'Store' tab at the top of the screen a couple of tabs over from the Tech Tree tab. It's really fairly simple after you get used to it. Best of luck to you in WoT. : )

Why is everyone complaining he is a noob? This is a tier one battle episode 1 he does not have like any experience with the game. Of course he is going to be bad at it.

WoT is the first game in a trio, WoWP(World of Warplanes) is in alpha stage right now and WoB(World of Battleships) is in development.

Tips for starting out are to have all the same tier don't have all tank destroyers or all normal tanks. Be as even as possible. If you die don't get mad and just switch to another tank. But the number one tip is... Never be a solo hero. Teamwork cooperation and get kills.
