There are times when I feel like I’m a terrible DM...

Besides all the creepy monsters with dongs, it bothered me that the DM could casually try to write the halfling's backstory. Halflings are not children and should not be treated as such in game.

That DM was WAY too comfortable exposing his fetishes to his players.

I am surprised that no one walked out after hearing the game intro, I would have.

the fact that this was an oversexualized adventure and also treated one of the players characters as a CHILD really doesnt hit me well.

And THIS is why session zero is so important. There's a party out there really interested in phallus-wielding goblin girls, I'm sure, but before you start describing vein placement you need to be ABSOLUTELY 100% TOTALLY SURE that party is the one sitting at your table.

As a perma-DM....this guy bothers me. I ain't gonna say you can't have a game featuring adult content...and I aint gonna say you can't have a game featuring...pornographic content, however this content was forced upon the players without consent.

He was clearly a bad DM, but he definitely broke the biggest rules right off the bat: not informing your party what your campaign might contain, especially if it's sensitive subjects or NSFW topics, and not paying attention of caring about your party's PCs. You're not DMing just to build your own story, but to build a story with your players. They're the most important storytellers at the table.

As a DM I'm POSITIVE that it is an unspoken rule, that this should never happen. And to keep anything overly sexual out of campaigns unless, Explicitly telling the party before hand. Even then this is a bit far.
