this is a dutch invention created by an artist who wanted to make 30 yard long wind driven mechanical creatures crawl over the beach. By now he has built dozens of them and it's quite impressive to see them in motion.

Cool! I guess this kind of shows how having the physical structure of a robot body designed in a particular way can be enough to allow a very simple controller (here a fan) to generate complex and coherent behaviors like walking.
